The Islamic Educational Panel(IEP)
has announced the results for students who sit for Islamic Religion Knowledge at
primary level country wide.
There are 1,746 schools in 24
regions and 81 districts did the exam compared to 519 schools which did the
exam last year.In all schools 55,557 candidates did the exam while in last year
there were 24,892.
Speaking to the reporters
yesterday the IEP chief coordinator Mr Suleyman Daudi said the results of this
year are not good enough to compare with last year and this year there is
consolidation in the way of teaching.
“even though there are many
students this year more than last year
the performance is moderate compared to last year.” He said

Dar es salaam is a leading region
for having good number of candidates. It has
22,896 candidates followed by Tabora which is having 4,280 and then
Kilimanjaro having 3,589 candidates.
The chief coordinator said there are
number of students who did well in the exam and there are eighteen students who
are mentioned as the best scores in the country. The top three are Khamis Omar
who scored 98% from Wete,Rehema Karungi scored 92% from Muleba and Mohamed
Athumani who scored 90% from Ilala.
Meanwhile the students have been
urged to learn the Islamic religion knowledge subject as it is among the
fundamental of moral principles in our society.
