Picture this: You’ve recently started dating someone new. You both are ready to take the step toward intimacy…sex, to be specific. After you’ve done the deed, your new lover rolls over and explains that he/she has a confession to make. In all seriousness, your partner tells you that they’re HIV positive. You’ve just had sex…without protection.
How do you react?
36 year old, Larry Dunn Jr., of Dallas, TX, was faced with this question when his girlfriend, Cicely Bolden, told him she was HIV positive, shortly after the two had sex, last Thursday. Unfortunately, Dunn didn’t make the right decision. Allegedly, after the 28-year-old Bolden shared her HIV status, she told him it was “not that bad.”  Apparently, Dunn didn’t agree. He went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed Bolden to death.
In what is probably the worst part of the story, Bolden’s two children found their mother’s body in her bedroom, once they came home from school. They ran screaming outside and a neighbor, Latoya Arnett, called the police. Arnett told the local Fox affiliate that “She didn’t deserve it and her kids didn’t deserve to see her like that. She was a good mom. Loved her kids to death. I can’t imagine my kids seeing me like that. I know it hurt them.”
When officers arrested Dunn for Bolden’s murder, he confessed: “She killed me. So I killed her.” Dunn cooperated with police and in a recorded interview, told them that he burned his clothes and threw the knife in the garbage at a waffle house after he killed Bolden. Police later found the weapon. The father of Bolden’s son, who is now taking care of both her son and daughter, said that Bolden contracted HIV within the past two years.
