HUNDREDS
of the Civic United Front (CUF) supporters yesterday attended a charity march
from the party’s offices in Buguruni to Jangwani Grounds, Dar es Salaam where
it was announced that over 68m/- have been raised.
The
CUF Chairman, Prof Ibrahim Lipumba said that the monies raised yesterday makes
the total of funds collected so far from members of the party reach over
129.3m/-.
He
told party supporters who gathered at the Jangwani grounds that the monies been
collected would be spent in funding various activities on the party’s Vision
for Change (V4C) campaigns which will witness non-stop marathon until 2015.

“We
will use the money to fund different activities in our Vision for Change
campaigns which will be marked with several political activities around the
country that will enable us win the forthcoming general elections in 2015,” he
said.
He
said that his party was been pushed by its determination to bring about
development to all people and ensure equal rights to all Tanzanians.
He
said that Arusha is one of the most gifted regions in the country whose
potentials would play a big role in developing the nation and benefit its
residents but because of unfavorable political situation the area is lagging
behind.
“I
will leave for Arusha soon where will share views with the residents on how
their region is potential and how they can use it to improve their living
standards, but they should also change their political perspectives,” He said
Prof
Lipumba noted after his Arusha tour, he will get prepared to travel to Brussels,
Belgium where he will meet his fellow Economists from all over the world to
discuss Euro’s depression.
