Tanzania should look to Angola as an example in the proper use of natural resources for the development of a nation says The Minister for Foreign affairs and International Affairs Mr Bernard Membe.

Hon Membe made the remarks during the celebrations of Angola 37th National Independence Anniversary conducted by Angola embassy in Tanzania at Hyatt Regency early this weekend.

Mr Membe said now Tanzania is having gas and we expect five years to come the country will be more rich if that resource will be used properly noting that the policy which are made in exporting the gas should not tighten the citizens of Tanzania.

“Tanzania now will start to extract gas that means we should look forward to ensure the policy we are making are not hindering our country development,” he said.

Mr Membe further noted that Angola is using their resources vividly giving an example of mining and fuel saying they contributes to its Gross domestic Product (GDP).

Minister said those are things which should be learnt by our country adding that now Angola is fighting for rural transformation were they striving to make sure social services are everywhere in the nation.

“They are building schools, hospitals and their roads are well consolidated they are now planning to have a bullet train from Lobito to Luanda then Zambia, imaging African country thinking of having a bullet train,” he verified.

On his part, Ambassador of Angola to Tanzania, Professor Ambrosio Lukoki, said that  the secret of success to Angola is the commitment and efficiency of the government in every sector under it with the objectives based on motivation of social justice and human development.

“The levels of growth result from the effectiveness of the measures undertaken by the government for stability of the macroeconomic indicators of fiscal, monetary and exchange nature which allowed economic to be reanimated,” Ambassador proclaimed.

Prof Lukoki further said that Tanzania and Angola partnership will not end and now Tanzania will benefit from Angola`s experience in the oil and gas industries and Tanzania might be able to receive oil from Angola in advantageous conditions.

Angola got its independence on 11/11/1975 from Portugal through armed struggle.
